Ahead of FC Tuggen’s rearranged Swiss Promotion League clash with Köniz on Wednesday evening (3 May), Tuggen boss Bruno Berner formed part of the panel of Teleclub Sport’s Extratime programme.

The former Swiss international defender joined Roland Vrabec, manager of Swiss Super League side FC Vaduz, on the panel for Monday night’s show.

Berner provided his thoughts on a range of topics, including FC Vaduz’s battle against relegation from the top division which was given a much-needed boost following a 3-1 win over FC Lausanne Sport which allowed Vrabec’s side to make up ground on teams around them.

The panel also discussed the key factors required for a manager to create a positive atmosphere during such challenging times, which the pressure of fighting against relegation weighs heavy.

Also discussed was the importance of communication and motivation in modern football, as well as FC Basel, who secured their eighth straight Swiss Super League title ahead of the League Cup Final against FC Sion at the end of May.

Finally, Bruno and the team spoke about the success of Bayern Munich this term and the impending retirement of two of the game’s greats – Xavi Alonso and Philip Lahm.
