BOUNCING BERNER UP TO FOURTH

SC Kriens head coach Bruno Berner recorded a valuable 2-0 win away at FC Schaffhausen last night (Tuesday 24 September), to climb to fourth place in the Swiss Challenge League.

Despite being a part-time side, Berner is once again defying the odds as his team are just two points off a promotion play-off place after eight games of the season.

Following promotion and a title win in his first season in charge, Berner secured survival last season and a Swiss Cup quarter-final place, losing narrowly to top flight side, FC Zurich.

Bruno, who was capped 16 times by Switzerland, and played for Grasshoppers, Real Oviedo, Freiburg, Basel, Blackburn Rovers and Leicester City, has been winning plaudits on the continent for his progressive coaching style, ability to maximise his resources and his intelligent analysis on national television.
